Comprehensive Support for Survivors of Domestic Violence

Shelter & Immediate Support

We provide survivors of domestic violence access to safe shelters and transitional housing. Our trained volunteers manage a confidential helpline and help connect clients to legal aid, family and marriage counseling, and other agency referrals to ensure safety and immediate support.

Education & Skills Development

Maika offers English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, GED exam preparation, basic computer training, and other adult education programs. We also assist survivors with skill development and job search to help them regain independence and confidence.

Volunteer & Community Assistance

Multilingual volunteers help overcome language and communication barriers. Local volunteers and members are encouraged to assist with transportation, legal matters, document interpretation, and culturally appropriate social activities to prevent isolation and foster community connection.

Legal Immigration

Immigration involves the legal process of moving to another country for purposes such as work, study, or permanent residence. It includes visa applications, documentation, compliance with laws, and settlement procedures. Proper guidance ensures a smooth transition and helps individuals avoid legal complications.

Child Custody

Custody refers to the legal responsibility for a child’s care, including decisions about their upbringing, education, and well-being. It can be sole or joint, depending on the situation. The primary focus in custody matters is always the best interest of the child.

Divorce Dissolution

Divorce is the legal dissolution of a marriage. It involves resolving matters such as asset division, alimony, and child custody. A well-managed divorce process aims to minimize conflict while ensuring fair outcomes for both parties.

Family Counseling

Family counseling is a supportive process that helps families resolve conflicts, improve communication, and strengthen relationships. It is beneficial during challenging times such as divorce, parenting issues, or emotional stress, promoting healthier family dynamics.
